Our dream of a new Hospice Home in the Vancouver area is closer to becoming a reality.

We continue to make significant progress towards our campaign goal of $4.5 million, (See thermometer). We are able to report this progress because of the generosity of many wonderful people who have responded to our message; additional hospice and palliative care beds are needed in our community to assist patients and their families who are dealing with end of life issues and we at Vancouver Hospice Society are determined to provide those needed beds and support programs.

While we have made progress with our fundraising campaign, there is much still to be done. Construction of our new Hospice Home is well underway and we need your help to ensure the work is completed and our new Home is ready to receive patients early next year. We urge you to consider how you can help.

Here’s how you can help us make our dream come true:
1.    MAKE A DONATION
As we approach the end of the year, many people are planning their charitable donations. If you have already contributed to the campaign, please accept our heartfelt thanks. We respectfully ask you to consider making another donation. All donations, both large and small, are needed if we are to reach our goal.
2.    ASK A FRIEND
Help us extend our message and request for support to people you know. Letting those around you know that you think this project is important will greatly assist us in building a broader base of donors.
3.    CONNECT US WITH SOMEONE YOU KNOW
You can help us get the word out about this important community project by connecting us with people you know. Any names you provide will be treated with the utmost confidentiality; when we contact anyone you refer, your name will only be used if you agree. These individuals will be approached only to determine their interest in and awareness of our project and will only be asked to make a donation when they have expressed an interest in our project. If they decline, we will not approach them a second time.
4.    SUPPORT OUR AREA APPEAL
In the next few weeks we will be making a direct appeal to the families living in the immediate area of our new Home, (Granville and West 32nd Ave.). If you know people living in that area please consider urging them to watch for our mail piece and to give it their heartfelt consideration.

When we have reached our goal and realized our dream, you will have the satisfaction of knowing you have made a meaningful contribution to the quality of life for many families in our community. Together we can make this happen.

It will be furnished with comfortable seating areas, computers to access the latest breaking news and all of Kitty’s favorite magazines.

With each kit purchased the Vancouver Hospice Society will receive $50.00 per kit, and you, the purchaser will receive a tax receipt for $50.
